Q. What do you grow?

A. We grow perennials, herbs, Mediterraneans, succulents and landscape roses. Since our formation, in 1980, we have specialized in growing herbaceous perennials (soft wooded plants that live beyond one season). A few years later we added culinary herbs, and then landscape roses. These roses are used as an integral part of the landscape rather than those rose garden specimens. Though the years we have added plants from Mediterranean climates and succulents.

Q. Do you sell to the public?

A. We do not sell to the public.

Q. Who do you sell to?

A. We primarily sell to retail garden centers, wholesale nurseries, plant brokers, contractors, and landscape professionals. Our customers also include Cities, Botanical Gardens/Arboretums, Golf Courses, and Theme Parks.

Q. What are your hours? (When are you open?)

A. Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, and on Saturday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM. (See next question also.)

Q. Are you open when it rains?

A. We typically will remain open on weekdays but will be closed on Saturdays.

Q. Are there days when you are closed?

A. We close for January 1st, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Also for the afternoons prior to Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Q. Where are you located?

A. The nursery is in the foothills of northeast Pasadena at 2795 Eaton Canyon Drive, Pasadena, Ca. 91107. Refer to the LA County Thomas Guide book on page 566 F1. Click on the “Location” button for a map and driving directions.

Q. What is your phone number and fax number?

A. Our phone number is (626) 797-6511, in Southern California call toll free at (800) 640-6244. Our fax number is (626) 797-0633. For administrative services call (626) 797-5432 or fax to (626) 797-8969.

Q. What size containers do you grow your plants in?

A. Our inventory consists of one, two and five gallon containers. (Gallon is a trade designated/accepted term.) We can grow plants in other sizes and special containers when on a contracted or prearranged basis.

Q. Do you grow any material in flats, 4 inch, 15 gallon or larger?

A. Not as a normal part of our inventory. If you have a job that calls for those sizes lets talk about how we might produce them for you.

Q. Will you grow a specific type and quantity of plants for an upcoming project? (Do you do contract growing?)

A. Magic Growers has produced specific types, sizes, and quantities of plants for a variety of “contract grow” projects. Many times we have grown material that is outside of our normal inventory and/or material in containers we would not generally produce inventory in. We would be interested in discussing this type of project with you.

Q. Do you deliver?

A. We make deliveries with our own trucks throughout Southern California. We do require a minimum order size, and a delivery fee is added. For customers located outside So. California orders can be delivered by common carrier, or picked up by customer’s truck.

Q. Can I just come by and pick out my own plants?

A. Members of the trade are always welcome to pick out their own materials.

Q. Can I have you pull an order for me to pick up?

A. You certainly can. Call, fax, or email your order to us. We just ask that you give us adequate time to properly pull your material. We generally need 24 hours notice to prepare a will call order. Orders submitted for pick up and then cancelled will be charged a re-stocking fee.

Q. What types of payment do you accept?

A. We accept cash, checks and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, and Discover) with proper identification.

Q. I’m a contractor/designer; can I bring a client to look at what you grow?

A. Yes, we ask that you accompany them while they are here and that you advise them to wear close-toed shoes during their visit, and that no pets are allowed in the nursery.

Q. My landscape contractor said I could come by and pick out, or pick up plants. Can I do that?

A. You must be accompanied by your contractor, or designer. We are not able to provide the service and attention that you will need. Because we do not sell to the public we can only accept payment from nursery or landscape professionals.

Q. Do you have a salesperson that can stop by and see me?

A. Yes we do. Please call or send us an email with your contact information and the best day(s) and times to see you. We will have a salesperson arrange to stop by with samples to show you.

Q. Do you have a price or an availability list you can send or fax to me?

A. Yes we do. Our availability is updated weekly then posted on our website. It can be faxed, emailed, or mailed to you. These lists are only available to members of the trade.
